i went out and bought a brand new (shitty) xmas tree complete with several strands of those candy colored lights (cuz you can never have too many lights) and a few boxes of gold and purple xmas balls.
i even found enough change to purchase the $1.89, cheap plastic (see-through) star for the top of this monstrosity.
*sigh*
as if that wasn't enough, i went ahead and bought a few boxes of those snazzy icicle lights and spent the last remaining hours of good daylight riggin' it up the front side of my two-story dump.
i think i am officially ready to bear the holidays.
and yes...
its like this every year.

It's like this every year, but yet, you make it sound so appealing.
I no longer participate in the putting up of our tree, or the lights or decoration. Much to tedious for these old bones.

that's very cool, soulfilms.
i am the same way..er...i mean, i buy gifts for people year round without prompt.
of course, when xmas rolls around, things get kinda fucked up cuz...
well, its like, did i buy this for xmas or just because?
people don't seem to mind either way.
most people i get stuff for don't realize that this is just how i am. so naturally, they go all out at xmas (for me)...
well, scratch that...
i like to maintain a relatively low friend count...so its not like i'm actually racking up the goods.
but i kinda feel bad cuz i know they are wanting to offer me the same feelings...
i dunno.
the world is screwed.

Christmas is probably my least favorite holiday.
When I was young my parents would tell me to make a list of things that I would like. I don't think I ever got anything that was on the list. But they seem to always give me some crap that I will never use and will probably end up donation to the Salvation army still unopend or give to someone else.
I also get sick of hearing the same xmas songs over and over and over. Everywhere you go one hears the same songs, sometimes a different singer or a different style but its still the same.
I also get tired of 'remember the true meaning of Christmas.' What the heck does that really mean?

Just after I finished College many years ago...I was inspired to make some "Season's Greetings" Commericals...
I forced my folks to keep their artifical green tree up for 18 straight months so I could make a couple of Season's Greetings Commercials.
They were quite complex in nature and required that I film one frame at a time.

One Frame at a time!? your kidding...
that must've taken forever! But I bet it was cool when you were done...
Kinda like stop animation?

Not only was it one frame at a time...but my "set" was the full living room (adorned for the Holidays of course)...and each frame involved a sequence of events....all down with the frame open!
and of course, If I made one mistake one frame during a 200 frame sequence....I would do the whole thing over the next day!
